Description
Author's note on the cover:
Ibn Al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy on him, said: I once went to Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah. He prayed the fajr, then sat to remember Allah the Most High until nearly half the day, then he turned to me and said: "This is my morning." Another time, he told me: "I never abandon the remembrance, except with the intention of resting my soul."
It is also part of his virtues that it erases sins and makes them depart, it brings affinity between the servant and his Lord, Blessed and Exalted be He, it is the planting of Paradise and a light for the invoker here below, as well as in the grave and on the bridge thrown over Hell. Remembrance is a tree whose fruits are knowledge and situations towards which travelers orient themselves. It is equivalent to the emancipation of slaves and spending of goods, and pushes for good in the path of Allah.
It is the pinnacle of recognition. The most honored creatures with Allah the Most High among the pious are those whose tongue never ceases to remember Him. Remembrance is a healing of the heart and its treatment. It brings benefits, it repels evil, and it involves the praises of Allah, Mighty and Exalted be He, and of His angels for the invoker. The seats of remembrance are gardens of Paradise and seats of angels. Being constant on it replaces supererogatory worships and takes their place. It is one of the greatest supports to the obedience of Allah. It has an amazing effect on obtaining peace, and it is a cause for the Lord, Mighty and Exalted be He, to declare His servant truthful.
