Ibn Al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy on him, said: I once went to Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah. He prayed the fajr, then sat to remember Allah the Most High until nearly half the day, then he turned to me and said: "This is my morning." Another time, he told me: "I never abandon the remembrance, except with the intention of resting my soul."
It is also part of his virtues that it erases sins and makes them depart, it brings affinity between the servant and his Lord, Blessed and Exalted be He, it is the planting of Paradise and a light for the invoker here below, as well as in the grave and on the bridge thrown over Hell.
