Description
Children are a divine gift and a joy for parents. Indeed, children are a gift from Allah and represent the adornment of this world, following His word: "Wealth and children are the vain adornment of this life (...)." (Al-Kahf: 46)
The abundance of wealth and numerous offspring therefore represent the adornment of this ephemeral life. Here below, Allah grants the servant a pious child who prays on his behalf for the hereafter and by whom he will be rewarded, in accordance with the following hadith: "When the human being dies, his good deeds cease to be counted except three: (and he mentioned) the invocation of his pious child on his behalf." This hadith thus means that the work performed by the pious child, namely the invocation on behalf of his parents after their death, prolongs their lives, as if they had never been dead.
