Few know it, but "Prophetic Medicine", which we have the honor of presenting here, is a chapter from this monumental work that is Zâd al-ma‘âd by the eminent scholar Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya (1292-1350) whose editions al-Hadîth had the honor of publishing the first complete and annotated translation that we have titled "Zâd al-ma‘âd, Muhammad model of success".
The importance of this subject and its burning relevance given the exceptional health situation we have known since January 2020 encouraged us to publish this book.
The main added values of our edition are the two prefaces by Professor Mustafa Kastit and sister Hanane Afellah, renowned nutritionist and dietitian, who both provide a theological, spiritual, medical and dietary perspective on this discipline that is prophetic medicine. Imam Ibn al-Qayyim, eminent scholar of the early fourteenth century, Abû ‘Abd Allah Muhammad Ibn Abî Bakr, better known by the nickname Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya, was the famous disciple of the sheikh of Islam Ibn Taymiyya. Through his work and his life, he greatly contributed to the development of an orthodox Sunni spirituality as well as a return to the sources that are the Quran and the Sunna, with a particular attention to the understanding that our pious Ancients had of it.
